"Catholic" Politicians

Article: Bidding Farewell to a Dynasty

Liz Lev’s piece on the passing of the 2 Kennedys is inspired. Many of us suffer when the label «Catholic» is used to describe pro-abortion politicians who claim their allegiance to the Church is not strained by their support of abortion.

We feel abandoned by leaders of the Church when these politicians are not condemned for their positions on this and similar issues. We are consoled, however, to know that at least this one sought the mercy and forgiveness of the Church at the hour of his death.

Liz Lev speaks with grace and truth when she describes the Church waiting with open arms for the return of all her sons and daughters. And her tribute to Eunice Shriver was beautiful. Thank you!
