Violence in Thailand

A response to: Tolerant, Peaceful Buddha

I lived in Thailand where the people are about 95% Buddhist, for 18 years. Although the Thai do not like confrontation and many are generous and helpful they are subject to the same sins as all mankind: jealousy, hatred etc. There are many murders in Thailand everyday, just as there are in other countries. The present situation in Bangkok demonstrates that a Buddhist country is not necessarily always peaceful.
