The Más por Menos (More for Less) campaign will be held Sept. 11 in all Argentinean parishes.

"As the Lord teaches us in the Gospel, even the smallest donation counts for God," the Holy Father affirmed in a message sent to Bishop Adolfo Uriona of Anatuya, president of the bishops' commission for aid to the poor.

The Pontiff reflected that a donation should reflect "that divine charity capable of detaching even from what is necessary in order to help a neighbor, that charity that is not shown only on rare occasions, but which should permeate the Christian life, thus conforming it to the life of the God of love, of whom we are called to be the image and witness."

"A charity," he continued, "that in the intimate union with God inexcusably calls us to union with our neighbor."

The Bishop of Rome concluded by entrusting the campaign to Our Lady and offering his apostolic blessing.

The donations from the collection will be distributed among 25 dioceses of Argentina.
