Benedict XVI Invites Youth to Use Gospel for Future Planning

VATICAN CITY, NOV. 9, 2011 (Zenit.org).- Benedict XVI is recommending that young people use the Gospel as they make future plans.

The Pope said this today as he concluded the general audience with his traditional greetings to youth, the ill, and newlyweds.

«Dear young people, plan for the future in complete fidelity to the Gospel, and grow according to the teaching and example of Jesus,» he told them.

The Holy Father encouraged the sick to offer suffering to the Lord, «so that thanks also to your participation in his sufferings, he may extend his saving action in the world.»

Finally he invited newlyweds: «In the path you have begun (…) be guided by a joyous faith to always serve life, which is God’s gift.»
