Pope Francis reminded the faithful gather in St. Peter’s Square and around the world on January 6, 2019, that it is Children’s Mission Day.
“Epiphany is also Children’s Mission Day, which this year invites the youngest missionaries to be ‘Jesus’ athletes,’ to witness the Gospel in their family, school and fun places,” the Holy Father said.
The Day was established in 1950 by Pope Pius XII. “It is an occasion dedicated to all the children who, like adults, are missionaries, by virtue of Baptism”, said Sister Roberta Tremarelli, Secretary General of the Pontifical Society of Holy Childhood.
