Tens of thousands of pilgrims have reached Jasna Gora in the walking pilgrimages from all over Poland, reported the Polish Bishops’ Conference. The biggest, oldest and longest pilgrimages are already in Czestochowa in order to celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
On the eve of the Solemnity, one of the oldest pilgrimages – the 308th Warsaw Walking Pilgrimage organized by Paulines – have reached the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Jasna Gora. During their pilgrimage, they prayed for the beatification of Card. Stefan Wyszynski. They were welcomed at  Jasna Gora by Cardinal Kazimierz Nycz, Metropolitan of Warsaw.
Soldiers taking part in the 28th International Military Walking Pilgrimage and 200 firemen with their families have also reached Jasna Gora.
Before noon, in the rain but very happy, pilgrims taking part in the 36th Walking Family Pilgrimage of the Diocese of Warszawa-Praga reached the Sanctuary. Throughout the whole way, they were accompanied by Bishop Marek Solarczyk, the delegate of the Polish Bishops’ Conference for Vocations.
In the morning, the 39th Warsaw Academic Metropolitan Pilgrimage reached the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Czestochowa.
Pilgrims will participate in the evening in the Holy Mass celebrated by Cardinal Kazimierz Nycz, Metropolitan of Warsaw.
