In the saddest moments, Pope Francis gave his advice to the Christians of the Middle East, during the Wednesday General Audience of January 8, 2020.
After his catechesis on the Acts of the Apostles — Saint Paul’s journey by ship to Rome and his shipwreck at Malta — the Holy Father greeted “the Arabic-speaking pilgrims, in particular, those from Iraq, Lebanon and Syria.
“In the saddest moments of our life, in the most anguishing moments and moments of trial, we must not be afraid but be daring as Paul was, because God watches over us, He is always close to us,” he encouraged.
“May the Lord bless you all and protect you always from the Evil One!, said the Pontiff, before being translated into Arabic by a collaborator.
