Only a handful of people were physically present with Pope Francis during today’s General Audience but he continued to reach people around the world with his words of faith and encouragement.

In response to the coronavirus pandemic, the audience was streamed from inside the Library of the Apostolic Vatican Palace.

The Holy Father greeted young people, the sick, the elderly, and newlyweds: “Dearests, rediscover in the light of the Resurrection the joy and beauty of life, which is a gift of God. I give all of you my Blessing.”

He also offered a special greeting to speakers of English who joined via social media from around the world:

“I greet the English-speaking faithful joining us through the media. In the joy of the Risen Christ, I invoke upon you and your families the loving mercy of God our Father. May the Lord bless you!”
