Appointment of auxiliary bishop of the metropolitan archdiocese of Tucumán, Argentina

The Holy Father has appointed as auxiliary bishop of the metropolitan archdiocese of Tucumán, Argentina, the Reverend Roberto Ferrari, of the clergy of the diocese of Villa de la Concepción del Río Cuarto and rector of the Jesús Buen Pastor major seminary, assigning him the titular see of Pinhel.

Curriculum vitae

Bishop-elect Roberto Ferrari was born in Ucacha, diocese of Villa de la Concepción del Río Cuarto, on November 29, 1965, and was ordained a priest on September 19, 1993. He studied philosophy and theology at the seminary of the diocese of Villa de la Concepción del Río Cuarto.

He has held the following offices: parish vicar of the parishes of Sagrados Corazones de Jesús y de María and Jesús Resucitado, parish priest of the parish of Nuestra Señora de la Merced in Monte Maíz and formator of the diocesan seminary. Since February 2018 he has served as rector of the Jesús Buen Pastor major seminary and member of the presbyteral council and of the college of consultors.

 

Appointment of auxiliary bishop of Zárate-Campana, Argentina

The Holy Father has appointed as auxiliary bishop of the diocese of Zárate-Campana, Argentina, the Reverend Msgr. Justo Rodríguez Gallego, of the clergy of the metropolitan archdiocese of Toledo, Spain, and vicar general of the diocese of Zárate-Campana, Argentina, assigning him the titular see of Nomentum.

Curriculum vitae

Bishop-elect Justo Rodríguez Gallego was born in Don Benito, metropolitan archdiocese of Mérida-Badajoz, Spain, on November 29, 1954, and was ordained a priest for the archdiocese of Toledo, Spain, on July 6, 1980. In the 1980s he arrived in Argentina through the Obra para la Cooperación Sacerdotal Hispanoamericana (OCSHA). He served as spiritual director of the diocesan seminary of Zárate-Campana and, subsequently, in 1989 he re-entered the archdiocese of Toledo where he worked in diocesan youth pastoral care and as parish priest. In 1997 he returned to Zárate-Campana and since then has held the following offices: diocesan delegate for vocations, episcopal vicar for the missions, dean, and member of the college of consultors and the presbyteral council, and episcopal vicar for pastoral care. During the period of sede vacante he served as diocesan administrator and is currently vicar-general.

 

Appointment of special envoy to the celebration of the centenary of the archdiocese of Łódź, Poland

His Eminence Cardinal Konrad Krajewski, Almoner of His Holiness, has been appointed by the Holy Father has his special envoy to the celebrations of the centenary of the archdiocese of Łódź, Poland, to be held on 12 December 2020.

 

Appointment of members of the Pontifical Commission for Sacred Archaeology

The Holy Father has appointed, among the members of the Pontifical Commission for Sacred Archaeology, the distinguished Professors Rossana Martorelli and Maria Carla Somma.
