Pope Appoints Auxiliary Bishop of Warszawa-Prague (Poland)

The Holy Father has appointed as Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Warszawa-Praga (Poland) the Rev. Can. Jacek Grzybowski, of the clergy of the same Diocese, Director of the Diocesan Office for University Pastoral Care, assigning him the titular See of Nova.

Curriculum vitae

HE Mgr. Jacek Grzybowski was born on August 11, 1973, in Wołomin, Diocese of Warszawa-Prague. After having completed his philosophical-theological studies at the Metropolitan Major Seminary of Warszawa he was ordained a priest on May 30, 1998, for the Diocese of Warszawa-Prague.

After ordination he was Vicar in the parishes: St. John the Baptist and St. Stanislaus in Stanisławów (1998-2000) and SS. Trinity in Ząbki.

In 2004 he obtained a Doctorate in Philosophy at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warszawa and from 2004 to 2013 he was Prefect of Studies and Professor of Philosophy at the Major Seminary of Warszawa (Tarchomin). In 2013 he obtained the University teaching qualification becoming Associate Professor at the Faculty of Christian Philosophy of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University. He is the author of numerous publications of a philosophical, political, bioethical nature and he knows English.

On December 23, 2017, he was appointed non-resident Canon of the Cathedral Chapter of Warszawa-Prague and on 13 October 2017 Member of the Group of Experts for Bioethics Issues of the Polish Bishops’ Conference.

Since April 18, 2018, he is also a member of the Diocesan Presbyteral Council.

From 2013 to today he has been Head of the University Pastoral Care of the Diocese and Director of the Arka Multifunctional Center.
