(ZENIT News / Mexico City, 12.10. 2025) – Artificial intelligence also has its own paths of evangelization, and one of the most unique was born in Mexico: Juanito.ai.

Launched in 2024 with the initial purpose of bringing the public closer to the Guadalupan Event, the platform has now taken a broader direction. It no longer simply explains the history and meaning of the apparitions of the Virgin Mary at Tepeyac; it seeks to become a comprehensive tool for studying the Catechism, delving into the Social Doctrine of the Church, and accompanying the Christian life in all its dimensions. Its evolution is an attempt to build bridges between living tradition and digital culture, offering a space where technology does not displace the person, but rather helps them to deepen their understanding.

What distinguishes this new stage is its pedagogical vocation. Juanito.ai presents itself as an ally for those who dedicate their lives to educating and accompanying others: teachers, catechists, pastoral agents, and evangelizers. The tool allows users to prepare classes and meetings with a solid doctrinal foundation, translate complex concepts into clear language, develop pastoral resources, and energize catechesis processes for families, youth, and adults. The project emphasizes a core idea: it is not enough to simply deliver information; it is essential to foster learning. Therefore, AI does not merely answer questions, but helps structure content, suggests activities, and offers pathways for study to become an experience of faith.

But its impact doesn’t end in the academic or educational sphere. Juanito.ai has also been conceived as a daily spiritual companion. With the discretion of someone walking beside you, it offers criteria for discernment, illuminates difficult decisions, provides guidance on family life, offers perspectives for facing problems at work, opens horizons on issues of social justice, and helps to understand the liturgical seasons. Its responses integrate biblical references, Magisterial texts, and spiritual guidelines, always with the aim of ensuring that doctrine doesn’t remain merely theoretical, but rather becomes integrated into the believer’s real life. In an era where information abounds but guidance is scarce, this tool seeks to offer what so many of us are looking for: clarity rooted in faith.

Although thousands of pilgrims use it today when visiting the Basilica of Guadalupe, the story of Juanito.ai began far from the bustle of Tepeyac. It was born in the high mountain communities of Pico de Orizaba, within the MasAlto Mission of the Legionaries of Christ. There, in a rural context marked by simplicity and deep-rooted devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe, the idea arose to unite doctrinal formation, spiritual identity, and missionary accompaniment. Father Evaristo Sada, LC, creator of the project, often summarizes it with a phrase that captures its essence: Juanito.ai doesn’t just inform; it forms.

The technical development is handled by Budly.ai, the learning platform powered by the Anáhuac University Network. The tool is offered free of charge and is recommended for schools, universities, parish groups, lay movements, and families seeking a reliable and accessible resource for growth in the faith.

The timing of this expansion is not accidental. The Church is approaching the Fifth Centenary of the Guadalupe Event, which will be celebrated in 2031, and has set out to renew its evangelizing impulse in light of the Global Pastoral Project 2031-2033. The horizon is demanding: to form missionary disciples capable of understanding the challenges of the present and responding from a place of faith. Juanito.ai, with its combination of Guadalupan roots and digital pedagogy, aspires to become a support for that process.

In the vast territory of the Internet, where diverse voices coexist and where it is not always easy to distinguish the essential from the incidental, this platform represents the Church’s attempt to be present with depth, closeness, and discernment. Its language is simple, its tone pastoral, and its objective clear: to accompany each person wherever they may be, helping them to pray, to understand, and to live according to the Gospel. In a world that is rapidly digitizing, Juanito.ai wants to remind us that a Guadalupan heart can also beat in the cloud.
