(ZENIT News / Vatican City, 09.21.2026).- On Monday morning, September 21, at 11:30 a.m., the Holy Father Leo XIV visited the Dicastery for Culture and Education.
The Pontiff was welcomed at the entrance of the Palazzo dei Propilei by the Prefect of the Dicastery, Cardinal José Tolentino de Mendonça, accompanied by the Secretaries, Monsignor Paul Tighe and Monsignor Carlo Maria Polvani.
The Pope greeted all the employees and staff present in the offices, paused in the chapel for a moment of prayer, and, in an atmosphere of great cordiality, delivered a brief address encouraging their daily commitment and service to the Church and the entire world, while expressing his gratitude and appreciation to those present.
During the visit, which lasted approximately one hour, the Pope highlighted the importance of the work, carried out worldwide, to spread the mission of Catholic education and the responsibility regarding culture. Through sport and art, culture has created numerous opportunities for encounter, fostering dialogue via a universal language capable of conveying the values of humanism to all. Finally, he noted that the work of the Roman Curia is a valuable instrument for transmitting the Church’s fundamental message: faith.
The visit concluded with the Holy Father’s blessing upon all those present and their families.
