The Pope sent his greetings during his Angelus address today, on the feast of the Epiphany.
Among the Oriental Churches celebrating Christmas this Saturday, according to the Julian calendar, the most numerous is the Russian Orthodox Church.
The Holy Father expressed his «most cordial good wishes for peace and goodness in the Lord.»
He also called for prayer «with fervor for full Christian unity so that their testimony will become the leaven of communion for the whole world.»
On Thursday, responding to a journalist’s question regarding the health of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, the Pope said: «Let us pray for peace in the Holy Land, that the Lord may grant lasting peace. That the Lord may illuminate the souls of those peoples and grant them definitive peace.»
