Pope Francis cancelled audiences on Friday morning because of a cold, but Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi said a meeting with an Italian association at the Vatican tomorrow will go ahead as planned.
“The Pope celebrated Mass at the Domus Sanctae Marthae with the faithful this morning as usual, but has postponed the audiences scheduled for this morning due to a minor indisposition,” Fr. Lombardi said in a statement.
The Vatican announced Thursday the Pope had postponed a pastoral visit to the Marian shrine of Divino Amore «in order to lighten the commitments of the Holy Father during the preparations of his imminent trip to the Holy Land.»
The visit has been postponed «to a date that is yet to be determined.»
Fr. Lombardi reassured reporters today there were no worries about the health of the 77-year-old Pontiff and everything was «tranquil».
