(ZENIT News / Vatican City, 10.11.2023).- Pope Francis will visit Dubai from December 1-3, thus closing the series of international journeys of 2023. The main reason for his journey, to one of the seven Emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates, is to attend the Conference of the Member States of the United Nations Convention on Climate Change.

The Holy Father will leave Rome at 11:30 am on Friday, December 1, and will arrive around 08:25 pm. The following day, Saturday, December 2, the Pope will address the COP28 Assembly at 10:00 am. Half an hour later, he will hold private bilateral meetings. In the afternoon of the same day, around 03:30 pm, he will continue with afternoon sessions of private bilateral meetings.

On Sunday, December 3, Pope Francis will open the “Faith Pavilion” in Dubai’s Expo City at 09:00 am. He will leave Dubai shortly after to return to Rome around 10:45 am, and will arrive in the Italian capital’s airport around 02:40 pm of the same day.
