Slowing It Down

A response to: When the Liturgy of the Eucharist Is Fast

I have had considerable success, but it took a long time, in convincing a majority of my parishioners that we should take greater care over reciting the Our Father. It only takes a hew seconds longer, but my parishioners now recognize the difference between a reverent recitation speaking directly and humbly to God the Father, which is what we are doing in that prayer, and one rushed through thoughtlessly at a hundred miles an hour.
