«Apostolorum Successores,» published by the Congregation for Bishops, is intended as an aid in the application of John Paul II’s postsynodal apostolic exhortation «Pastores Gregis.»

The Italian newspaper Avvenire said the 300-page book has been presented to the Pope.

Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, prefect of the Congregation for Bishops, has distributed with the volume a brochure with the minutes of the course of formation for young bishops, held in the Regina Apostolorum Pontifical Athenaeum last Sept. 10-19.
