“In these days donations of health supplies from China have arrived in the Vatican Pharmacy…”

The Director of the Holy See Press Office, Matteo Bruni, revealed this in an April 10 statement.

The Red Cross Society of China and the Hebei Jinde Charities Foundation were the organizations, he noted, that donated “as an expression of the solidarity of the Chinese people and Catholic communities with all those committed in the aid of persons affected by COVID-19, and in the ongoing prevention of the Coronavirus epidemic.”

“The Holy See,” he concluded, “appreciates the generous gesture and expresses its gratitude to the Bishops and Catholic faithful, to the institutions and to all the other Chinese citizens for this humanitarian initiative, assuring them of the Holy Father’s esteem and prayers.”
