“Given the measures issued last March 11and in order to avoid a greater spread of COVID-19, it has been established that the Dicasteries and connected Organisms will not suspend their activities,” stated a note today, March 24, 2020, of the Holy See Press Office.

Essential Services

According to the press release, heads of Dicasteries are asked to “continue offering essential services to the universal Church, predisposing minimum staff contingents in the offices,” so that, in so far as possible, work at a distance is fomented, “ in order to limit the movement of employees and, at the same time, to guarantee the exercise of the Petrine ministry.”

In case of contact with the Coronavirus between employees of the Holy See or citizens of Vatican City State, the Office of Health and Hygiene has established “a protocol for the opportune communication of cases to the health authorities of the place of residence and to those of Vatican City State,” concludes the note.
