Dear Holy Father,

I wish to express our welcome and profound thanks for accepting our invitation to be here today, to praise and thank the Lord together with the “Famiglia delle Missionarie” (Families of the Missionaries) and the Missionaries of Charity together with those that live in this house of welcome, along with our collaborators.

This day takes us back to the memory 25 years ago, when on May 21st, 1988, Blessed John Paul II entrusted the “Gift of Mary” House to Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, a House destined to become a place of consolation to those in need and who desired to be touched by the love of Christ. Jesus himself said: “Everything you do to the least of my brothers, you do to Me.” This House is a gift of the Blessed Virgin Mary and we are aware that only with Mary and through Her we can recognize Jesus and serve him in His “little ones.”

Your Holiness, we entrust ourselves to your prayers so that we may always be faithful to our Charism. Humbly, we ask you to impart your Apostolic Blessing  on this work so that it may be a visible sign of the compassion of Jesus in today’s world. Thank you.
