The move is one of the conclusions of the bishops’ meeting which ended Wednesday in Givisiez, in the Diocese of Sion. The directive will be published in a pastoral letter in December.

The bishops also gave their support to a second «White March» to protest crimes against children. The march will be held in several Swiss cities on Sept. 21.

The bishops’ conference said it supports «the efforts undertaken by the organizers to promote authentic awareness vis-à-vis this scourge of our societies, and to appeal for concrete measures in the struggle against sexual abuse of children.»
