I love that the Holy Father is recommending spiritual direction. However, I’d be very interested in seeing how this happens in reality, where the rubber meets the road. While the Vatican may have many such spiritual guides available, they can be few and far between in a world suffering a vocation crisis, where many areas find clergy scrambling to provide even basic sacramental support. It’s this sort of Ivory Tower mentality that can be so very frustrating.
