VATICAN CITY, SEPT. 30, 2009 (Zenit.org).- Benedict XVI will be praying in a particular way in October so that the Lord’s Day is rightly lived.

The Apostleship of Prayer announced this general intention chosen by the Pope: “That Sunday may be lived as the day on which Christians gather to celebrate the risen Lord, participating in the Eucharist.”

The Holy Father also chooses an apostolic intention for each month. In October he will pray: “That the entire People of God, to whom Christ entrusted the mandate to go and preach the Gospel to every creature, may eagerly assume their own missionary responsibility and consider it the highest service they can offer humanity.”
