The cardinal, a member of the Pontifical Council for Promoting New Evangelization, advocates a «new way of living the faith,» according to an address he gave to an archdiocesan curia meeting last week.
Evangelization, the cardinal said, is needed throughout the Church — in the Middle East, in Turkey, in Europe, and also at home.
«The peoples to evangelize are in our own house,» he asserted. «The Gospel is not a good that constitutes our privilege [as Catholics], but a good for the world.»
«[We must] take up Jesus’ mandate always,» he said, «to go out to the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to all creatures.»
