Jesuit Fr. Federico Lombardi, director of the Vatican press office, made this announcement late this morning during a briefing given on the seventh meeting of the Pope’s advisory Council of Cardinals.
There are currently 112 cardinal electors (those under the age of 80) of 208 living cardinals. Two more cardinals will reach age 80 before the dates of the consistory.
A list of who will be created cardinal at the consistory is expected next month.
