(ZENIT News / Vatican City, 02.13.2024).- On Sunday, April 28, 2024, Pope Francis will visit Venice. This has been confirmed by the Holy See Press Office at noon on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.

Pope Francis will visit the Pavilion of the Holy See at the 60th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, the Women’s Prison on the Giudecca, and will meet with the Ecclesial Community of the Patriarchate of Venice, with a program to be announced soon.

The announcement of this visit, jointly organized by the Dicastery for Culture and Education and the Patriarchate of Venice, comes in the context of the ad limina visit of the bishops of the Triveneto region of Italy, a visit that concluded on February 10 and saw the episcopate of that area of Italy in meetings with the Pope.

Also on the agenda for 2024 are other visits by the Pope in Italian territory: Verona in May and Trieste in July.
