The logo of Pope Francis’ pastoral visit on June 6, to the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was presented yesterday at Sarajevo. The motto of the visit is “Peace Be with You.”
The logo shows a dove with an olive branch, a symbol of peace, and a cross, part of which is a stylized triangle symbolizing the borders of Bosnia, the colors of light, of the Bosnia flag and the presence of Croats in Bosnia in white, blue, yellow and red.
On presenting the slogan and logo to the press, the Archbishop of Sarajevo, Cardinal Vinko Puljic, said that “these were inspired by Pope Francis himself, when he announced that the objective of his visit is to encourage the peace process in Bosnia,” reported Sir agency.
“Moreover, ‘Peace be with you’ is the expression Jesus used to greet the disciples in his apparition after the Resurrection,” stressed the Cardinal. “The times we are living in are uncertain about the future and, therefore, all the inhabitants of this country, particularly we, Catholics, are in need of such encouragement,” he added.
The Cardinal then thanked the designers of the logo, artists Miroslav Setka and Dragan Ivankovic, who offered their collaboration for free.
Further details on the visit will be published after April 8, while local sources already reported the arrival today of a Holy See delegation to define the papal program.
