VATICAN CITY, NOV. 21, 2010 (Zenit.org).- On Saturday, Benedict XVI named Archbishop Adolfo Tito Yllana as apostolic nuncio to the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Archbishop Yllana, 62, has been serving as apostolic nuncio to Pakistan since 2002. Before that, he was the papal envoy to the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea.
Born in the Philippines, he was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Caceres in 1972.
The prelate succeeds Archbishop Giovanni d’Aniello, who was appointed apostolic nuncio to Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos on Sept. 22.
