The Pope on Saturday will lead young Catholics at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in prayers during the link. Also participating in the event will be young people in Athens, Greece; Budapest, Hungary; Strasbourg, France; Vienna, Austria; and Valencia, Spain.

The cities were chosen by the European Committee of University Chaplaincies, whose establishment was promoted by the Pope in 1997. Vatican sources said that university professors and students in each city will offer Christian testimonies, and a mystery of the rosary will be prayed. The meeting will end with a papal message.

Before the event, the participants in Moscow will participate in a solemn Mass for Christian unity in Europe, celebrated by Archbishop Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz.
