Renunciation of the Metropolitan Archbishop of Genoa (Italy) and appointment of the new Metropolitan Archbishop
The Holy Father accepted the renunciation of the pastoral government of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Genoa (Italy), presented by His Most Reverend Eminence Cardinal Angelo Bagnasco.
The Holy Father has appointed Reverend Father Marco Tasca, OFM Conv., Former Minister General of the Order of Friars Minor Conventual, as Metropolitan Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Genoa (Italy).
Rev.do Father Marco Tasca, OFM Conv.
Rev. Father Marco Tasca, OFM Conv., Was born in Sant’Angelo di Piove di Sacco (PD), on June 9, 1957. At the age of 11, on September 29, 1968, he entered the Order of the Friars Minor Conventual in the Seraphic Seminary in Camposampiero (PD). After completing his high school studies, he was admitted to the novitiate year (1976-1977). On November 28, 1981, he made his final vows in the Seraphic Order at the Basilica of Sant’Antonio in Padua.
At the conclusion of the philosophical-theological studies, with the Bachelor’s degree in Theology, he received the priestly ordination on March 19, 1983. From 1983 to 1988 he continued his studies with a license in Psychology and Pastoral at the Pontifical Salesian University.
Marco Tasca held the following positions: Collaborator of the parish of S. Giuseppe da Copertino, in Rome (EUR) from 1983 to 1988; Rector of the Minor Seminary of the Italian Province of St. Anthony of Padua from 1988 to 1994; since 1994 he has been Rector of the Major Seminary of the Italian Province of St. Anthony of Padua and Professor of Psychology and Pastoral Theology at the Theological Institute of St. Anthony Doctor and at the Major Seminary of Padua. He was Guardian of the Convent of the Antonian Shrines in Camposampiero from 2001 to 2005; Provincial Minister of the Province of S. Antonio of Padua from 2005 to 2007; Minister General of the Order for two sexenni from 2007 to 2019.
Furthermore, he was elected President of the Legal Commission from 2013 to 2019 within the Union of Superiors General; Tasca has been several times President of the Conference of Franciscan General Ministers and of the Franciscan Family. As a representative of the religious he participated three times in the assembly of the Synod of Bishops as sodalis : in 2012 at the Synod on the New Evangelization, in 2015 at the Synod on the Family and in 2018 at the Synod on Youth.
Renunciation of the Bishop of Puerto Iguazú (Argentina) and appointment of the successor
The Holy Father accepted the renunciation of the pastoral government of the Diocese of Puerto Iguazú (Argentina), presented by His Most Reverend Excellency Monsignor Marcelo Raúl Martorell.
The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Nicolás Baisi of Puerto Iguazú (Argentina), until now titular Bishop of Tepelta and Auxiliary of the Archdiocese of La Plata.
HE Mons. Nicolás Baisi
HE Msgr. Nicolás Baisi was born in Bella Vista, Diocese of San Miguel, on July 15, 1964. After studying at the “Don Jaime” College of Bella Vista, he studied Engineering for two years at the National University of Buenos Aires. Then he entered the Diocesan Seminary of San Miguel. After completing his theology studies at the University of Salvador in San Miguel, he was ordained a priest for the Diocese of San Miguel on November 21, 1993. In 2001 he obtained a license in theology at the Pontifical Angelicum University in Rome. Before going to Rome he was parish vicar in the parish of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Los Polverines. He then held the position of Vice-director of Caritas, parish priest of NS del Rosario and also of diocesan director of catechesis and of the presbyteral council.
Appointed titular Bishop of Tepelta and Auxiliary of La Plata on 8 April 2010, he was consecrated on the following 19 June.
