Zenit Agency which specializes in news of the Catholic Church, received a special mention of the Cardinal Juan Landazuri Rickets National Journalism Prize 2019, of the Peruvian Episcopal Conference, for the journalistic coverage of the Synod on the Amazon, held in the Vatican in October 2019.
The Episcopal Communications Commission of the Peruvian Episcopal Conference made known the winners of the Cardinal Juan Landazuri Ricketts National Journalism Prize 2019, the awarding having taken place at 11:00 am on Friday, November 9, at the headquarters of the Peruvian Episcopal Conference.
The recognition of the Cardinal Landazuri Plaque was granted to Rolando Rodrich Sarango, journalist with ample experience in the press and television, and who has been Director of the Correo newspaper in Piura as well as Manager of America television in Piura and University Professor. At present he is a columnist in the Correo newspaper.
Moreover, the Episcopal Communications Commission gave a special mention to Zenit Agency, Which specializes in news of the Catholic Church with headquarters in Rome, and to journalist Maria Rosa Lorbes of Lima’s newspaper, La Republica for the journalistic coverage of the Synod on the Amazon held last October.
Carlos Paredes, who has a column in the newspaper Gestion, Memorandum Economico 2019 also received a special mention for his article Economic Analysis of the Catholic Church in Peru.
