Egypt bans niqab in schools

The debate on the dress of Muslim girls and women is not limited to France or European countries. Last week, the Egyptian Ministry of Education imposed a ban on the wearing of the niqab (a veil that also covers the face, leaving only the eyes uncovered) in public schools and educational establishments. The ban affects female students, but not female teachers.
