Pope Leo XIV Leaves the Hospital: What Kind of Patient Was He? The Doctor Reveals All. Here’s How the Pope’s Discharge Went After a 4-Day Hospital Stay

The Pope left the Gemelli Hospital at approximately 3:30 p.m., greeted by applause from patients, hospital visitors, faithful and members of the media who had gathered to wish him well

3 days after his surgery, photos of the Pope were published, and that day saw the highest number of visitors and phone calls

Leo spoke with his older brother, Louis Prevost, 74, who is receiving treatment for multiple myeloma in Tampa, Florida. Louis later recounted that the Pope had asked whether he was afraid. He jokingly suggested that Leo should transfer to his hospital because of the quality of its care; the pontiff replied that he, too, was receiving excellent treatment in Rome.
