Retired Quebec Auxiliary Bishop Dies

OTTAWA, JAN. 6, 2005 (Zenit.org).- A retired auxiliary bishop of Quebec, Marc Leclerc, died Monday. He was 71.

Born in 1933 in Saint-Grégoire de Montmorency, Quebec, he was ordained to the priesthood in May 1958.

He was named auxiliary bishop in Quebec by John Paul II in June 1982, and ordained bishop three months later. For health reasons, Bishop Leclerc retired in 1998, after the Pope accepted his resignation.
