VATICAN CITY, SEPT. 2, 2010 (Zenit.org).- After the summer break, the Vatican Museums will again be open for evening hours, every Friday of September and October from 7 to 11 P.M., L’Osservatore Romano announced.

The museums’ evening hours are meant to make it easier not only for tourists, but also for Romans who are often unable to take advantage of their city’s cultural richness due to work schedules.

Moreover, evening hours provide visitors with experiences that could not otherwise be enjoyed: watching the sunset around St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Gardens from the courtyard of the art gallery, or a stroll through the galleries of the Apostolic Library in the peace of the night silence.

The St. Pius V Halls will also be accessible, where visitors can admire the collection of Medieval and Renaissance ceramics found in the papal palaces.
