Magicians Give Pope a Wand and a Request

VATICAN CITY, JAN. 30, 2002 (Zenit.org).- As planned, a group of Catholic magicians gave a magic wand to John Paul II during today´s general audience.

The delegation of some 100 magicians also asked the Holy Father to name St. John Bosco as their patron.

Don Bosco, founder of the Society of St. Francis of Sales and other groups, liked to entertain children with tricks and hand games, as well as teach them the catechism.
