The Holy Father has appointed Archbishop Gianpiero Palmieri, until now auxiliary bishop of Rome, as vicegerent of the diocese of Rome, elevating him to the dignity of archbishop and assigning him the titular see of Idassa.

The Holy Father has appointed Professor Gustavo Osvaldo Béliz, secretary of the Secretaría de Asuntos Estratégicos, Argentina, as ordinary member of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences.
Curriculum vitae
Professor Gustavo Osvaldo Béliz was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on January 7, 1962. He graduated in law from the University of Buenos Aires (1989) and completed postgraduate studies at the London School of Economics (1994). He was an official at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) (2005-2019) and the Institute for the Integration of Latin America and the Caribbean (INTAL). He served as professor at the Faculty of Information Sciences of the Austral University (1995-2001) and at the Instituto de Altos Estudios Empresariales (2000-2001). He served three times as minister of the Presidential Cabinet of the Argentine Government in the fields of Justice, Security and Human Rights and Internal Affairs. He is currently secretary of the Secretaría de Asuntos Estratégicos of the Presidency of the Nation. He is the author of numerous publications, especially in the fields of sustainable development, the future of work, artificial intelligence, democratic institutions and climate change.
