The mission that Pope Francis entrusted to the “Logia” Belgian Catholic Association is to build “bridges” with “daring” and “perseverance.” And to do so, he invited them to ask for the help of the Holy Spirit, in view of a mission “of humanization” of the society.
On Saturday morning, May 12, 2018, Pope Francis received in the Vatican about a hundred members of the Belgian “Logia” Association, which was born in Flanders, stated the Holy See.
“Don’t be afraid to ask, with insistence in your prayer and by your participation in the Sacraments, for the aid of the Holy Spirit, so that you are given “a spirit of holiness that permeates equally well solitude and service, intimacy and the work of evangelization, so that each instance [of your life] is the expression of a devoted love under the gaze of the Lord,” exhorted the Pontiff.
He also invited them to “develop bonds of fraternity to make this communion visible in differences, of which the Holy Spirit is the project manager.”
He asked that they build “with daring and perseverance, bridges between men, between generations, between the different social and professional milieus, and give particular attention to the little ones, to the poor and to all persons that are excluded in one way or another.
The Holy Father spoke of a work “of humanization” of the society in the Holy Spirit. “To follow Christ and put His words into practice never constitutes a loss of humanity but fosters the deployment of our talents and competencies in view of the good of all, at the service of the construction of a more just, fraternal and human society.”
He exhorted his listeners to live “the Gospel as a way of humanization at the school of Jesus.”
He pointed out a joyful path of freedom: “Have at heart to show, in words and deeds, that faith in Jesus Christ is never a synonym of confinement, because it’s that gift of God offered to all men as a way that frees from sin, from sadness, from interior emptiness, from isolation and is the source of a joy that no one can steal from us.”
