Here’s what the second consistory of Leo XIV will look like: topics, schedule, and procedure. All the cardinals will be in Rome on the last weekend of June 2026

The format itself reveals much about the Pope’s approach. Participants will be divided into twenty working groups. Nine groups will consist primarily of diocesan cardinals, including papal nuncios and retired ordinaries, while eleven will bring together members of the Roman Curia and non-elector cardinals. Each group will be guided by a moderator and a secretary responsible for synthesizing the discussion into a final report

Four years after the Dobbs case, the United States remains deeply divided on abortion: here’s what the data shows

According to Gallup’s Values and Beliefs survey, conducted from May 1 to May 17, 2026, Americans are almost perfectly split on the legal status of abortion. Forty-eight percent believe abortion should be legal in all circumstances (33%) or most circumstances (15%), while 49% say it should either be legal only in certain circumstances (32%) or illegal in all cases (17%).
