A response to: Holy See to UN: Gender Equality Isn't Sameness
Thanks ZENIT for Archbishop Celestino Migliore’s address at the United Nations. This publication was timely because I see it as hindsight after the recent New York City gay-pride parade where more than half of the participants are women who have transformed to manhood or vice visa. Like Archbishop Migliore, I also strongly believe that “equality is not sameness, and difference is not inequality,” neither is equality physiognomic but it means “complementarity” – man and woman working together in their uniqueness for the development of society and humanity.
As women and in imitation of the Blessed Mother Mary, let us use our God-given gifts of motherhood (psychical and spiritual), commitment and devotedness to make the world a better place.
