Pope Meets With Homeless People Before Papal Trip

Meeting Organized by Papal Almoner Prior to Departure to Ecuador

Prior to embarking on his nine-day visit to Ecuador, Bolivia and Paraguay, Pope Francis met with several homeless people at his residence.

According to ANSA news agency, the Holy Father met with seven homeless persons roughly one hour before his departure from Rome’s Fiumicino airport. The meeting was organized Archbishop Konrad Krajewski, the papal almoner, who was also present.

The brief meeting concluded with Pope Francis imparting his blessing upon the homeless people.
