Heads of state receive prayers from Papal plane

Pope Francis doesn’t just fly over a country, he sends his prayers and blessings in the process.  On his September 6, 2017 flight from Rome to Bogota, he flew over several countries, in each instance sending a greeting to its head of state.
He sent a personalized text to each leader, asking God’s blessings upon the people of the nation in a simple message of peace and prosperity.  And his blessings fell evenly on leaders of all political persuasions, from American President Donald Trump to Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
The Pope was welcomed by Church and political leaders upon his arrival in Colombia, as well as by enthusiastic crowds that lined his motorcade for a glimpse of the Pontiff – and to receive his blessing.
