The foundation act of Cumvivium was signed last month at the headquarters of the apostolic nunciature in Brussels.

On hand were representatives of a number of pharmaceutical companies, university professors specialized in drug quality insurance, Holy See experts, and the International Federation of Catholic Pharmacists (IFCP).

In a press statement, professor Alain Lejeune, president of IFCP, said that Cumvivium will support the struggle against pandemics, «for example, through the Church structures.»

Cumvivium will also diffuse scientific information on those treatments, and will facilitate the formation of qualified personnel in improverished regions, the statement explained.
